Total scam. There is no free trial. They steal your money!

Awful. Don't have enough words to describe how terrible Shutterstock is. I can't even delete my account there.

As a contributor I experience disappointment after disappointment. Now shutterstock has set a new low after not paying for December 2022 even if the minimum payment target was met. It's not a big amount of money, but the principle. I can not trust shutterstock at all. From my point of view it is going to be a game of luck from now on regarding the payments.

Never give them your bank card number or e-wallet email. Shutterstock can take your money even if you haven't subscribed to their service and you won't be able to get it back.

Pile of crap ... I have been a customer for years and because I have a, slightly, older operating system I am locked out ... even though I have credit on my payment option - there are (were) loyal customers out there shame you cannot appreciate that

The free trial is a scam. I had to PAY £24 just to cancel the FREE trial which is absolutely ridiculous. Won't be using Shutterstocks services again after this outrageous con.

I started a free trial 3 months ago and cancelled auto renewal by the end of it, but for some reasons it doesn’t work and it charged me £60 for the past 3 months. I contacted customer services for a refund and they provided no help at all. Please listen to me and don’t use their service at all or you might end up like me. This company is a SCAM!!!!!!!

Shameful cancellation practice…

I realised today that a ‘trial’ I signed up for has been running for ten months at £19.99 — partly my stupidity for not checking, granted.

But when I emailed to ask if my unused downloads could be taken into account and converted into credits and to cancel the plan, I was told that it will cost £90 (!!!) cancellation fee!

How can this be allowed? An online only service like this cannot legitimately charge this amount simply for removing a card from their system!!

I scoured their site until I finally found a photo I could use for backdrop. Go to purchase it and the cheapest package I could find was $30 for two downloads. Aggravating as it was, I liked the photo and justified the cost. Well the photo didn't work. It was a background type image where you could butt the photo to itself to make a wallpaper and the edges didn't line up. I showed them this and they still refuse to refund me my money. $30. Not like it was hundreds. I wish I would've checked online reviews first. You think Shutterstock is legitimate company because you've heard it your whole life but they fraudulent and don't stand behind their own products.

I found a charge from Shutterstock one YEAR from date of purchase. I made the purchase through PayPal (ZERO STARS!) and a year later, they charged me again. I made a complaint through PayPal and several days later they denied my refund BECAUSE I did not have the original receipt. A YEAR LATER! I never knew there were going to be any charges BEYOND the original purchase. I can see why so many people complain about ShutterStock & will find every way I can to make people aware.

Absolute scam. Sign up for a montly account, used it once. Tried to cancel they ignored my autorenew turn off and charged me for another month. Then said they had to charge me £20 to cancel, i cancelled and they took £48 out my bank and ended the chat.

Do not use them at all costs.

They took the money of the membership without my knowledge, and when I talked to the service they promised me a refund, to woke next morning and find that they suspended my account and it's been 7 days no refunds. Shutterstock are scammers be aware

I see all the negative reviews below regarding cancelling plans, but I had the opposite experience. Everything was handled smoothly and in less than 3 minutes.

Even if you canel auto-renew, they will still keep charging you for a whole year and you can't do something about it. Fraudulent practice !

I would like to bring to your attention my recent experience with this company. I had the misfortune of being overcharged for their subscription, and when I reached out to the customer service team to inquire about the discrepancy, I was met with poor communication and a lack of resolution.

Upon discovering that I was charged more than the advertised price on the website (31$ every month), I immediately contacted the company via their chat support. However, instead of providing an explanation or addressing my concerns, the representative ended the chat without any further communication.

I was very disappointed with this experience as a customer and felt misled by the company's advertising practices. I was also very disappointed with the lack of customer service provided by the representative on the chat.

I post this comment in other facebook group and other customers said that they had the same issue with them and when they wanted to downgrade to lower plan the agents offer them highr price than what they already pay.

I hope that this company will make an effort to improve their customer service and ensure that their advertising is accurate. I would advise you to be very careful in dealing with this company, and make sure you double check the prices before any transactions to avoid future issues and disappointments.

BTW, Interesting why they not allowed reviews, posts or upload photos to their Facebook page.
